Hi! My name is Carly Foraker and I’m a Junior Fashion Merchandising major at the University of Delaware. I originally started College Chic as an assignment for my English class on new media but I plan to make it something much more than that. Living on a college campus you see so many different personal styles that are so inspirational, that is what I plan to talk about on College Chic. There are some people that will never get a chance to experience college and I am hoping to reach out and give them a taste of what it’s like. I would also like to inspire and inform fellow college students that are interested in the different aspects of fashion. My goal is to give everyone a new outlook on the fashion industry.
I love everything about fashion. I knew from a young age being involved in the fashion industry is what I wanted to do with my life. I’ve been unable to find any subject or topic that compares with the passion I have for fashion. The fast pasted, glamorous, yet at times grungy, street lifestyle is nothing short of fabulous. I’ve always had a problem sticking with things because I tend to get bored very easily. I knew being involved in fashion was the right decision because after 20 years I’ve only grown to be more interested and intrigued. Although I am not quiet sure where exactly I want to end up in the vast industry I know I am on the right path. During my journey I’d love to experience working behind the scenes at the hottest fashion shows, interning at a prestigious fashion PR firm in NYC, and traveling to Paris to visit all the most esteemed and respected fashion houses. My dream is to find a job that I will enjoy doing for the rest of my life.
